If you are looking for help in a subject or just want to learn something new, we can help. From Ancient Greek to rockclimbing to zoology we will do our best to find you a match. Also, if you are an adult in the community looking to mentor a middle school or high school youth, please contact us. Please email Mainstreet Mentors at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our youth coordinator, Joe McGowan, or our Carleton College coordinators, will get in contact with you shortly. Mainstreet Mentors has been made possible by a grant from Women in Northfield Giving Support (WINGS) with much appreciation to the ACT center at Carleton.

After many serious and sometimes somber novels, Book Club will be reading the hilarious Confederacy of Dunces by the late John Kennedy Toole. Many consider this Pulitzer Prize winning novel a comic masterpiece. The novels follows Ignatius J. Reilly and his many (mis)adventures as he stumbles through the streets of eccentric New Orleans. This novel was published ten years after Toole’s death and was his only major work.
Come on down to The Key this Tuesday the 24th at 7:00pm and carve pumpkins with us. There are no age limits with this project. Staff will be provided to help you be more creative. The pumpkins are free and we will be displaying them throughout the week.
Prophetic or paranoia? Communism or capitalism? Is Big Brother watching us? Come pick up a copy of George Orwell’s classic “futuristic” novel 1984. Book Club meets EVERY monday at 5:00pm. Please read the first six chapters by Monday the 28th of August and be ready to discuss. Call the Key @ 507.663.0715 with any questions. This promises to be a doubleplusgood time.
