Program and Services: Housing
NUY works with youth up to age 24 to find safe and stable housing. NUY support a youth board of youth who are experiencing or have experienced homelessness in their lives. Their insights shape and inform how NUY supports youth lacking stable housing. NUY’s Wallflower Project is a volunteer host-home network for youth to access when home isn’t an option. NUY provides case management services for youth seeking help finding housing for one night or for years to come. When our host home network isn’t an appropriate fit, NUY partners with Community Action Center of Northfield or Three Rivers Community Action to find and identify other housing options. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer host family, inquire at homes@unionofyouth.org for more details. If you know a homeless youth, or a youth who is couch-surfing, NUY can provide support in a lot of forms, including mediation services for families, financial assistance, employment help, or just a safer option.
